Wipes Reduce Sick Time In The Work Environment

Company Website

One of the biggest health concerns in an office environment is cross-contamination. Recent studies reveal that sponges, such as the ones commonly found in breakrooms, harbor large amounts of bacteria and serve as a breeding grounds for germs.

ITW Dymon, the manufacturer of SCRUBS brand premoistened wipes, felt they had the solution to this common breakroom concern. The concept was to produce a single-use, scrubbing wipe saturated with dish detergent so an individual could clean their own dishes and then dispose of the wipe, preventing cross-contamination.

Prototypes were made and samples of textured wipes saturated with dish detergent were sent to various companies. For two months, interviews were conducted at these companies addressing general breakroom concerns and product specifics, such as scrubbing power of the wipe and product fragrance.

The results were analyzed and applied to the product prototype. Not long after, SCRUBS Breakroom Dish Wipes were introduced.
