Ergonomic safety, or that pertaining to how equipment and physical processes can be designed to prevent strain injuries, is one of the leading concerns in the industry. Manufacturers are taking ergonomics into account as they design new carpet care machines. From vacuums to extractors, carpet cleaning machines require repetitive motion, pushing and/or pulling equipment across the floor.

Many vacuums are lightweight, with ergonomic handles and adjustments for users of all heights. Heavier extractors have also become lighter in weight, with adjustable tools, handle height improvements, noise reduction and additional ways to prevent strain, including belts that attach to operators.
