Cart customization is becoming increasingly popular as building service contractors expand services into different types of facilities. Carts that are appropriate for use in an office building may not be appropriate for schools or hospitals.
Wide carts allow one or more bags or receptacles for waste and recycling, as well as a spot for small mop buckets on the opposite end. In the middle, there are shelves and compartments that can hold supplies for restocking or cleaning products. These are appropriate for certain offices and government buildings as well as hotels.
Tall, narrow carts allow the janitor to perform specific tasks which may be more common in certain facilities, such as waste removal in offices or laundry collection in fitness centers, or specific cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping. Other janitorial carts are strictly utilitarian, to carry supplies. Some carts even come with a built-in vacuum canister.
