No longer are cleaning closets stocked to the brim with 20 to 25 different cleaning chemicals. Instead, shelves look barren, donning only three or four options. These multi-purpose products designed to clean many surfaces are changing the way workers clean.

Experts agree that pairing down chemical inventory with multi-purpose products reduces complexity, mitigates training issues and product misuse, and saves money. These chemicals also create efficiencies when analyzing time and motion. For example, wiping desktops then cleaning glass with the same product is faster than using multiple chemicals.

This also results in dollars saved. If a cleaner doesn't have to go back and forth to grab different products because one product does the job, then labor costs — the largest line item in any budget — can be greatly reduced.
