When switching to a new soap dispensing system, facilities should be mindful of any potential setbacks caused by soap spillage.
Because soap can damage the surfaces around dispensers, it is recommended to place catch pans underneath them. The units themselves do not drip, but if people pull their hands away too quickly, the soap can splash counters, walls and floors, causing damage if not cleaned up right away.
Regular maintenance is also a key element, no matter what dispensing solution is used for soap. Dispensers need to be maintained on a daily basis, and even more often in busy or high-traffic restrooms. Facilities should work with their suppliers to select appropriate systems and train cleaning personnel to maintain them.
