In my previous article, I introduced you to one of two very different building service contractors (BSCs). In this piece, I’d like to introduce you to the second. In an effort to remain anonymous, we’ll call them company B.
Company B is a sharp contrast to Company A. Their appearance is different in that the owner was dressed in commercial grade work pants, safety shoes (polished), a company logo shirt with ID prominently attached. His children were under 18 and were not on site. His wife, dressed professionally with a smock was involved and took great detail with dusting and a lot of the detail work. Equipment was professional grade and clean. He noted that the filters and bags were serviced as per standards which resulted in less dusting. Since he was on a route that took him between various small accounts, he carried a utility bucket with laundered, pre-soaked microfiber mops (color coded) that were rotated once used at an account. He also used color coded microfiber cloths that reduced the chance of cross contamination. He had three primary cleaning products that included a fast acting disinfectant, an all-purpose cleaner and glass cleaner.
There was also something different about his attitude towards his work. He not only understood High Performance Cleaning but practiced it to accomplish not only a clean appearance but also environmentally correct as well as cleaning to protect the health of the customer. He had various certifications from his distributor as well as from classes on safety, floor care, Blood Bourne Pathogens and related topics. Upon inspection of his work, I scored it a 5 (out of 1-5) since I really could not find anything to fault.
The most surprising point to note that he was within 10-20 percent of Company A as to total price. If you were choosing a cleaning service, would you be willing to pay a difference to get better outcomes?
Remember that quality does not cost; rather it pays. Thanks for all you do.
Your comments and questions are important. I hope to hear from you soon. Until then, keep it clean...
