One of the key elements to preventing graffiti is quick and consistent clean-up. The quicker cleaners respond and the better job they do covering up the eyesore, the less likely vandals will return.
A clean, graffiti-free building communicates that vandalism is not accepted and will not be tolerated. Like artists, vandals want their work to be seen. They don’t want to spend the time, just to have their markings removed the next day. Instead, they’ll move on to an surface that receives less attention from cleaners.
Not only will immediate response to graffiti deter vandals from returning, but facility perception will improve. The community will likely have a better impression of a clean facility than one with graffiti markings all over it.
