The position of Onsite Supervisor is a highly trustworthy position responsible for providing direct oversight to the performance of work as defined by the individual contract requirements.  The supervisor may be designated “Alternate Project Manager” by the terms of the specific service agreement.

The job description of an Onsite Supervisor should include:

• Maintain effective communication with the Customer (Point of Contact), with Human Resources staff and with Contract Manager.

• Assign work and monitor its performance within shifts or sites to assure that all contract requirements are met; that all policies and procedures are adhered to, and that all objectives are met.

• Assure that all employees are trained in proper techniques for the efficient, safe and quality performance of their job(s).

• Quality control function requires regular written on-site inspections conducted with employee and/or customer.

Monitors staffing levels to satisfy Scope of Work while remaining within targeted labor hours.

• Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies required for successful performance of the contract at all times.

• Requires a satisfactory working knowledge in all major areas of building maintenance, including restroom sanitation, office cleaning, carpet care, hard floor care, equipment operation and maintenance, chemical knowledge, SDS, OSHA and safety.

• May be required to attend scheduled training sessions conducted by the Division Operations Manager and/or Quality Control/Training Manager.

• Certification and participation in BSCAI, CMI, ISSA and/or IEHA may be required for continued employment and promotions.

• Knowledge of computers including spreadsheets, word processing and other necessary products as determined by management.

• Ability to fill out clear, legible written reports, payroll records, quality control inspections, Purchase Order request, employee evaluations, inventory reports, safety  and other forms as needed.

• Expertise in communicating basic cleaning tasks in a simple format to line workers.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and implement the Scope of Work for a contract and communicate that knowledge to workers.

• Capacity to substitute for other Site Supervisors on short notice.

• Other duties as directed by the Direct Report and/or management.

This position requires a moderate level of communication skills related to training line workers, as well as relating positively to workers.  A high school diploma (or GED) is required.  On the job experience will be favorably considered.  Requires high standards and the ability to correct deficiencies in a timely manner.  The goal should be a constant improvement in overall performance at each contract while operating within budget guidelines

A requirement also includes a minimum of three years successfully operating in a similar capacity with six months of supervisory (assistant supervisor) experience.
