Water-Fed Poles An Alternative To Lifts, Platforms

An increasingly popular alternative to placing window washers on lifts, ladders and platforms is water-fed poles, which can be found in lengths up to 80 feet. These poles allow operators to stand on the ground and wash, scrub and rinse windows many floors up.

They are made up of a series of telescoping handles, with single or dial hoses running up to the brush or head. Hoses are connected to deionized water tanks with the option of a second detergent tank hookup — though deionized water acts as a natural cleaner and dries without spotting, so a cleaner may not be needed.

Water-fed poles can also be used for pressure washing of building siding, parking lots and sidewalks.

Tools such as swivel connections (often called goosenecks), squeegees and multiple types of brushes can increase the cleaning capabilities of a water-fed pole.
