Video: How Women Thrive in Facilities Management
March serves as Women's History Month, which offers the opportunity for annual observance of the impact women have had on history and the contributions they have made to society.
To recognize the impact women have had on facilities management and to discuss her inspiring journey and contributions to the industry, Corinne Zudonyi — Editor-in-Chief of CleanLink.com, Facility Cleaning Decisions magazine, Contracting Profits magazine and Sanitary Maintenance magazine — sat down to speak with Ada Baldwin, the Director of University Housekeeping at North Carolina State University.
In this video, Ada emphasizes the importance of celebrating women in typically overlooked roles like facilities management. She advocates for building strong relationships among women to foster unity and strength, regardless of age or position. Ada shares words of wisdom for young women entering the field, urging them to embrace small beginnings, value patience, integrity, and assertiveness. She stresses the significance of having a voice at the table, being a role model, and never giving up.
Ada is a remarkable cheerleader for women's advancement in cleaning and facilities management, and she encourages all women to pursue their aspirations during Women's History Month and beyond.
