Contracting Profits has always strived to stay on top of important industry trends and provide content that matters most to building service contractors. To help continue this mission, we’ve created an editorial advisory board made up of six industry-leading BSCs.
Nathalie Doobin is the owner and CEO of Harvard Services Group in New York. A strong business leader, she has been featured in Forbes magazine’s 2015 Most Powerful Women issue and recognized as an Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women magazine. Check out Nathalie’s advice for motivating workers in this month’s Book Club on page 32.
Eric Luke is president and CEO of Varsity Facility Services, the same company his father, Arlo Luke, helped start with Don Aslett in Pocatello, Idaho, in 1957. Eric began working for the company at age 12 in the landscaping branch. He is actively engaged in the industry, having twice served on BSCAI’s board of directors.
Mary Miller, CEO of Cincinnati-based JANCOA has been distinguished with multiple honors, including most recently the Kent Clapp CEO Leadership Award from Smart Business Network, and a 2016 Woman of Distinction from Girls Scouts of Western Ohio (see Faces of the Industry, page 8.) Many of her awards recognize her Dream Manager program, which inspires and guides employees to reach their goals.
Scott Stevenson is the president and CEO of KleenMark, a second-generation contract cleaning company in Madison, Wisconsin. Scott is a hands-on leader and passionate about people in the industry. He created KleenMark University to provide continuing education opportunities for both employees and customers.
Laurie Sewell joined Servicon Systems in Culver City, California, in 1988 and rose through the ranks to president and eventually CEO in 2015. She is an industry leader, having headed the committee that wrote GS-42, Green Seal’s Environmental Standard for Cleaning Services, and the ISSA group that wrote the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS).
Paul Senecal is managing partner for Affineco in Bridgeport, Connecticut, which combines the services of three different contract cleaning companies. Paul grew up in the service industry, learning tips and skills from the maintenance and cleaning staff of his father’s retail store. Today, as a 50/50 partnership between Michael Diamond and Senecal, Affineco is a bit of anomaly in the industry, but the formula is a proven success with nearly 2,000 employees and more than 600 accounts.
