While the efforts of custodians can often go unnoticed by building occupants, it never has an impact on the demeanor of Kimberly Miller McKenzie, day porter for Lucas Building Maintenance in Ironton, Ohio. In her more than three years on the job, McKenzie has made a lasting impact on coworkers and facility occupants alike.
Her main responsibilities include lobby and restroom cleaning, in addition to vacuuming — but she is always willing to assist with directions or lending a helping hand whenever possible for the facility she’s assigned to.
“She always shows up to work in a timely fashion, never takes off, and takes great pride in her work,” says Kathy Hughes, general manager for Lucas Building Maintenance. “I never have to question where she is because I know she is doing her job.”
McKenzie’s combination of work ethic and positive attitude has made her a key asset to the company. She routinely receives compliments for both her cleaning quality and uplifting spirit.
