When people approach us at trade shows and conferences, they tell us they want to see more articles about “people like them”— profiles and stories about what makes them tick, and what makes their businesses successful. So, with that in mind, we bring you this month’s cover story, “BSC Snapshots.” We hope that you’ll identify in some way these three profiles: building service contractors in different markets, at different life and career stages, with companies in different phases of development.

On the other hand, via e-mail, reader queries differ. The No. 1 “e-question”: “I’m about to bid; can you tell me how much I should charge to clean, per square foot?”

That’s a question that we, unfortunately, can’t answer, as there is no magic number — there are, however, some guidelines you can use to build a bid that’s right for your building.
