Total Building Maintenance, Inc., Carrollton, Texas, is going the extra mile in the fight against germs by adding another layer of protection by using the Clorox Total 360 System, from Clorox Professional Products, to help ensure an even healthier environment on behalf of its clients.
Outbreaks of contagious illnesses, from cold and flu to fast-spreading stomach bugs like norovirus, are not just a problem for hospitals. Productivity losses linked to absenteeism cost an average of $225.8 billion each year. Illness-causing viruses and bacteria can survive on surfaces for months, making cleaning and disinfecting surfaces an important first line of defense in our clients’ academic, medical, athletic and corporate environments.
The Clorox Total 360 System uses a patented electrostatic delivery system to quickly and easily provide coverage of Clorox disinfecting and sanitizing solutions. The system works by charging and atomizing the Clorox disinfecting or sanitizing solution, delivering a powerful flow of charged particles that are attracted to surfaces with a force stronger than gravity. This allows the disinfecting or sanitizing product to reach and uniformly coat surfaces, including areas where conventional trigger sprays may easily miss.
“Illness and absenteeism can have a huge impact on businesses,” says Neil Chopra, director of sustainability, Total Building Maintenance. “We are committed to providing a clean and healthy environment, so we are excited to introduce this technology as an added measure to help prevent the spread of germs that cause illnesses and infections. The system won’t take the place of other daily cleaning and maintenance activities, but it will help us ensure that when it comes to fighting germs, no surface goes untreated.”
Total Building Maintenance uses the Clorox Total 360 System to treat a wide variety of surfaces found in its clients’ facilities, including restrooms, desks, tabletops, computer keyboards and mice, door handles, and light switches.
“People can unknowingly carry and spread germs as they go about their day, and the reality is that in public spaces, there will always be that risk,” says Catherine Sanchez, senior business developer, Total Building Maintenance. “The new electrostatic spray system is a way for us to make sure we’re taking that extra step to provide a healthy environment.”
