Do janitors need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when diluting?

As a responsible chemical manufacturer, we always recommend using basic PPE on the cleaning job: safety glasses and impermeable gloves. Safety glasses and gloves should not only be worn for protection from chemical hazards, but also for protection from the hazards of the environment that is being cleaned. – John B. Everitt, president, Stearns Packaging Corporation, Madison, Wisconsin

Custodial work is far too high on the list of job related injuries. Janitors should wear more PPE to prevent injury, regardless of the chemical management system being used. – Allen Randolph, vice president sales, Aqua Chempacs, Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania
