In the baseball world, the July All-Star break signals the season’s halfway point. But, it’s still probably a little premature for teams and fans to be thinking about October and the World Series. However, in the cleaning industry, it may not be such a bad idea for building service contractors to start looking ahead to October and the ISSA/INTERCLEAN® North America trade show in Orlando, Fla.
Last year during an educational session, our columnist Jim Peduto commented on the importance of knowing your cleaning times before walking the trade show floor. If you don’t know how long it takes to clean an area with a particular piece of equipment, how can you be sure the new products you see at the show will benefit your operations?
Between now and October, start measuring your cleaning times and benchmarking your services. Note what areas you would like to see improve and what types of products will help you get there. Also note how much of your budget you can allot to new product purchases. This information will help maximize your trade show experience.
ISSA recently announced the keynote speaker for this year’s convention (see News). Look for more show coverage in our issues leading up to and following the convention. Of course, look for me in Orlando in October at booth 1919 (hopefully cheering on my Milwaukee Brewers in the World Series).
