Incorporating sustainability into any business is a big commitment. Often clients need help understanding and communicating the details of a sustainability program. We aid in this first step by offering classes about green and sustainability, producing educational literature for our customers and promoting clear, precise internal communication regarding the programs benefits and viability. These steps create a company culture and a vision your employees can take pride in while simultaneously demonstrating your dedication to sustainable practices to your external business partners.
A clear concept of sustainability is only as strong as the concrete steps and processes it is built upon. Our complete approach covers everything from managing recycling programs to educating employees about healthy workplace environments and hygiene. Through continuing research at seminars and trade shows we stay on the cutting edge of sustainable technologies, research the latest green chemicals, and partner with other environmentally minded companies.

Cummins Facility Services is embracing the goal of sustainability by continuingly investing time, money, and study into the lasted trends employed by contractors to help our environment.
Zero Waste Landfill is becoming a very hot topic in our industry. At CFS, we presently manage five locations where we sort waste to insure that recyclable materials are being separated and reclaimed.
CFS is also embracing this procedure in our own office, as we are in constant pursuit of evaluating administrative procedures that eliminate paper. For example, we have started using the hand-held computers for presentations, electronic business cards, and electronic invoicing to eliminate the need for paper. We also recycle all used paper materials and cans.
From the operating side, we strive to maximize and extend the life of buffing pads and microfiber cloths. We also encourage our customers to use paper products that have a high content of recyclable fiber materials.

We do route work, about 140 smaller facilities, spread over a metro area 65 plus miles across, on a variety of schedules. For years we've looked, quite aggressively, at drive time and distance, to conserve time and resources.
In purchasing, we aim toward highly concentrated chemicals, to reduce shipping costs (and fuel), and minimize packaging (for instance, floor finish in a bagged box, not a plastic bucket).
We recycle, both at our facility and for our clients; we've strategic alliances with a charity-run recycling center and a document and software shredding/recycling firm. Using HEPA filtration, microfiber and HP cleaner/sanitizer, we clean more thoroughly each visit, thus promoting health and safety with a minimum number of visits per month. We supply clients with Green Seal certified, 100-percent-recycled content paper products.
