Autoscrubber
The facilities at Syracuse University in New York see continual traffic from 23,000 students and faculty. Dan Welker, custodial supervisor for the university’s West Zone, listed labor and chemical costs as two major challenges that were recently solved by the new Clarke BOOST™ orbital scrubber.  With their old conventional scrubbers, workers spent extra time cleaning floor corners and edges. “The puddles in the corners and cleaning solution that ended up on the walls were especially troublesome,” Welker says.  In the course of a day our account managers are challenged with many different cleaning problems. One of the most interesting was a call we received from a carpet cleaner who had a tough issue. An elderly woman had a string of epileptic attacks due to a reaction to a new medication. Just prior to the attacks she replaced her carpet with an off-white berber. During an attack she struck her head on a table and bled a large amount on her new carpet. Although the woman was fine, her carpet wasn’t.
