Part three of this four-part article is about the new products at the Annual Convention.

Attendees are encouraged to take in ISSA/INTERCLEAN Exhibit Hours and displays from manufacturers at the McCormick Place Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.

After the exhibit hall of ISSA/INTERCLEAN, BSCs can continue to see new products from manufacturers hosting tabletop displays at the Annual Convention.

“It is somewhat unique how we do it,” says Kruse. “We use McCormick Place for manufacturer displays, but we feel the education side of things should be in a little more personal space such as at the Radisson Blu, which is just an incredible facility. … It is more personal and intimate. McCormick Place can be a little daunting.”

The BSCAI Annual Convention reaps the benefits of being co-located with ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America’s convention in such a central hub like the Windy City.

“Being co-located with the ISSA, we have incredible support from the vendor community and the manufacturers of all of the latest equipment, products and all of the new stuff that is out there,” says Kruse. “It gives people an opportunity to speak to those folks one on one and build relationships with them.”

One of the convention’s main attractions in 2016 is the actual city where it will be located. Chicago is a world-class metropolitan center known for its dining, entertainment, cultural and tourist stops. Attendees should set their agendas around seeing the sites, dining at one of the city’s great eateries, taking a stroll along the famed Magnificent Mile or Lake Michigan and maybe even making a stop at one of the world-renowned museums or attractions. From the Art Institute and Adler Planetarium to the wonderment of the Shedd Aquarium and the breathtaking sights found at the Skydeck in Willis Tower, there is plenty to do and see for building service contracting professionals when they are not working.

“Each time we are in Chicago, we have exceptionally strong attendance,” says Kruse. “The reasons for that are the fact that it is a very easy city to get to since it’s in the middle of the country and … Chicago is such a great city in terms of restaurants, things to do and getting around. It’s just a great place to be.”
