IEHA’s Annual Conference and Convention focuses on industry changes, as well as those coming to the association

IEHA plans to play big in Las Vegas, and members attending their 49th Annual Conference and Convention are sure to leave as winners. Celebrating 85 years, the association plans to honor their history while also using this opportunity to look ahead and strategize for the future.

“When you look back at the vision that our founder, Margaret Barnes, had in 1930, it’s pretty amazing to see the foresight she had to professionalize the cleaning industry through education and sharing of best practices,” says Janet Wiggins, IEHA president. “While our history is extremely important to us, we also recognize that if we want to stay relevant and resourceful, we’ll have to be strategic and plan for the future.”

IEHA members traveling to Las Vegas for the conference — which is held at Bally’s Las Vegas, October 17 through 20 — will celebrate the milestone anniversary, but the overall focus of the convention this year is definitely on what lies ahead. Many of the educational offerings were designed specifically to help members think about what’s coming down the road for the industry and how executives can prepare for it. IEHA is also taking their own advice and is prepared to outline how the association continues to remain relevant in this evolving industry.

“We’ve been making some significant changes within the association — some which people might have noticed and others that might be less evident,” says Wiggins. “But as a result, we’re seeing a significant growth in our membership base, an evolution in our professional education and certification offerings, and a broadening in the content resources we’re providing. It’s a new era for IEHA and we’re thrilled for what the future holds.”
