SDA Changes Name, Website
The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) recently changed its name to the American Cleaning Institute (ACI). The new name and corresponding Website were unveiled during the ACI 2010 Mid-Year Meeting to demonstrate the benefits and contributions of cleaning to everyday life.
“Our new name, brand and Website enable us to better tell the story of how cleaning products and practices contribute to better living,” said ACI Board Chair Jane Hutterly, EVP of Worldwide Corporate & Environmental Affairs, S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.
The former SDA was established in 1926; its members include the manufacturers and formulators of household, industrial, and institutional cleaning products, their ingredients and finished packaging; oleochemical producers; and chemical distributors to the cleaning product industry.
The launch of the new name and Website caps off a year during which the Institute moved into an environmentally-friendly new building and brought its global business-to-business meeting to a new location. ACI’s next Industry Convention is scheduled for January 25-29, 2011.
