Illinois Goes Green

The Green Clean Schools Act was passed by the U.S. Senate, making Illinois the second state in the country — New York was the first — to require the use of green-certified cleaning products in all state schools. In April, the bill sailed through the House to become a law that would require schools to implement more green cleaning practices.

On May 9th, all schools in the state were required to comply with the “Guidelines” that are designed to give Illinois schools clear direction in purchasing and using green cleaning products, as well as implementing a green cleaning program, as required by the Act.
