ISSA Complimentary Shuttle Service

Attendees who book a hotel room in the official ISSA/INTERCLEAN housing block get free shuttle service to McCormick Place, a $30 value. Registration badges will be printed with a "BUS," if you book your hotel under the same name of your show registration. If you are sharing a guestroom, you are required to note all names on the hotel reservation to be sure each attendee gets the "BUS" designation on their badge.


Buses And Trains

The Chicago Transit Authority operates 140 bus routes throughout the city, several of which run 24 hours a day, and “The L,” a system of eight color-coded rapid transit routes, most of which run 24 hours a day.  

Bus stops are typically are located at street corners and are marked. Train stations are either above the street or in the subway and are also marked with signage. Schedules vary widely, but riders can expect bus and trains to arrive at their stop every 15 minutes. Some routes are express and do not stop at every train station or bus stop.

Buses fares are $2 and train fares are $2.25 and a transfer for either, which is good for two hours, is 25 cents. Regular riders can also purchase a three-day pass for $20 or a seven-day pass for $28. Commuters can also purchase a Ventra Ticket at train stations. Single ride Ventra Tickets are $3 and can be used for one ride and two transfers. One day Ventra tickets are $10 and can be used for unlimited rides for a 24-hour period.

There are several mobile apps that help commuters plan their public transportation travel. The L stop for McCormick Place is the intersection of Cermak Road and State Street, which is two blocks from the northwest corner of McCormick Place West Building (Gate 41)


Taxis

Fares for taxis start with a base charge on the ride meter and then there is a per-mile charge. Cabs are easy to find throughout the city. Taxi services in the city accept both cash and credit card payments.


Lyft And Uber   

   

Drivers for both Lyft and Uber are available to take travelers throughout the city. Download the apps for both services to schedule a ride.  


Car Rentals

The price for renting an economy car in Chicago is between $25 and $30 a day. Parking on city streets is limited. Depending on where the parking spot is within the city, meter rates range from $2 an hour to $6.50 an hour. Prices for a parking lot spot can vary widely depending on the location and the time the vehicle arrives and leaves the facility. Parking is available at McCormick Place and prices begin at $15 per day.
