Stanley Reichel, president of Banner Chemical (Orange, NJ) received the 2012 NJSSA Bob Stader Lifetime Achievement Award during the association’s recently-held Supply Line welcome party and membership meeting.

ISSA President Jon Scoles (Scoles Floorshine) presented the award to Reichel and stated, “Stan is a generous giver of his time and talents to countless people in the jan-san industry. It is an honor to present the 2012 Bob Stader Lifetime Achievement award to Stan Reichel.”

Reichel bought Banner Chemical in 1970 and he was able to expand the company’s product lines and distribution network to over 200 products and over 650 active distributors. His technical and scientific background along with his hands-on management was critical to being able to upgrade and modernize the company processes, formularies and operations and to grow the business.

Reichel served on the NJSSA Board of Trustees from 1992-1995 and again from 2002-2008, serving as treasurer from 2002-2003. In 1996, he was elected to a three year term as northeast director to the International Sanitary Supply Association Board of Directors.

This is the fifth Bob Stader Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented. In 2004, Russ Leahy was awarded the first Bob Stader Award and Norman Leibowitz of Norshel Industries was recognized in 2006. In 2008, Hank Josephs of Spruce Industries was selected to receive the award, and in 2010, Barbara Casse-Bender received the award.

The recipient is selected biannually by the NJSSA Board of Trusties and the award is named in memory of Bob Stader, a founding member of NJSSA.
