The century-old Peterson Spring Corporation, an international manufacturer of engineered metal products, draws on its beliefs in providing innovative solutions at a reduced cost while not sacrificing quality. However, in order to succeed with these values in today’s market, Peterson Spring executives knew that they needed to minimize orders, control spending, and reduce the number of vendors servicing the company.
An AFFLINK member based out of Michigan originally worked as the only distributor for Peterson Spring. As time progressed, though, a national alliance of distributors was of higher importance for Peterson Spring.
AFFLINK was brought in to assist in assembling the team. AFFLINK’s industrial business development manager, Carter Crutchfield, took the reins alongside the AFFLINK Member. Working to service accounts in the packaging, safety, and MRO channels, AFFLINK’s industrial segment found immediate success through collaboration with the Membership.
Using eLev8, AFFLINK’s proprietary approach that helps customers analyze product performance and savings for needs ranging from cleaning supplies to paper products, Crutchfield was able to run a complete analysis of the manufacturer’s supply product needs, providing them with cost-saving product solutions and confirming savings through order consolidation.
Through a site needs analysis and a studied impact report, product and efficiency cost savings of up to six percent across packaging, safety, and janitorial categories were realized. An in-depth supply-chain analysis secured another eight thousand dollars in savings just for the company headquarters. With the eLev8 system, Peterson Spring Corporation is beginning to realize its goals, reducing spending and consolidating orders.
