The IFMA Foundation has launched an online internship posting board called INTERNnet to match facility management (FM) students with employers seeking to fill internship and temporary positions. INTERNnet is a part of the IFMA Foundation’s Global Workforce Initiative, which was launched to make FM a career of choice for students at every level of the education system, from grade school through post-secondary. Access is free for students while employers pay a nominal posting fee to help ensure the quality of opportunities listed on the site.
“Internships are one of the best ways for students to gain real-world experience and employers to preview and shape their future workforce,” said IFMA Foundation Executive Director Jeff Tafel, CAE. “With more incredible opportunities available than ever before and more eager FM-trained students entering the workforce, the IFMA Foundation is excited to provide a virtual meeting room for students and employers.”
INTERNnet is part of the IFMA JobNet service, which allows organizations to post job opportunities and prospective candidates to share their resumes. This serves to match the right candidates to the right positions faster and more easily than larger multi-profession employment sites. INTERNnet is focused on providing real work experiences for students currently enrolled in college or secondary degree programs. It will be particularly beneficial to students enrolled in one of the foundation’s 30 accredited degree programs around the world.
