The International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) recently announced it has updated the certification and testing platforms for all of its Professional Education Credentialing Program (PECP) to an online format. This update will significantly increase the ease and accessibility of the testing process, enabling individuals who wish to obtain their Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH) and Registered Executive Housekeeper (REH) designation to do so from anywhere, at any time.
“Previously, people who wanted to complete our PECP program and earn their CEH or REH had to travel to an approved testing location and take a proctored written examination,” said Michael Patterson-REH, President-Elect, IEHA. “Now everything is available online. With our new system, people can review the materials and take the test online from anywhere. Once they complete the exam, they’ll be notified immediately if they passed or failed. It’s a much more efficient and secure process.”
IEHA’s PECP program is one of the most comprehensive certification programs for individuals in a facility management position. It consists of the Managing for Effect and Technical and Administrative Series. Designed to allow individuals to learn at their own pace, each of the 16 modules in each series can be purchased individually or in a series.
Modules include:
Management Philosophy & Style
Communication
Planning & Organizing
Staffing & Staff Development
Continuous Improvement
Housekeeping Techniques
Work Controls
Pest Control
Chemical Controls
Waste Management
Purchasing
Accounting & Budgets
Microbiology
Safety & Security
Interiors
Laundry & Linen
IEHA also offers a Collegiate Program with a total requirement of 60 semester credit hours. Through the new online testing format, individuals who want to earn their CEH designation will be required to complete 75 exam questions in 90 minutes. Individuals looking to obtain their REH designation will be required to complete 100 exam questions in 120 minutes. After the successful completion of the exam, individuals will be able to immediately print their membership card with the new designation.
“We’ve experienced a substantial increase in the demand for our PECP program in recent years as more organizations recognize it as the leading credentialing program for facility management professionals,” added Patterson. “We’re confident that by enhancing the availability through an online format, even more individuals will have the ability to further enhance their professional education.”
