President Obama Referred To Sofidel During Important Speech

Recently, President Barack Obama referred to Sofidel in his speech at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, the most influential event dedicated to promoting direct foreign investment in the USA.

Since the first SelectUSA Investment Summit three years ago, participating companies have invested more than $10 billion in 35 U.S. states and territories. This year’s theme is “The Innovation Advantage” and showcases investment opportunities from every corner of the United States for global investors.

President Obama cited Sofidel as one of the foreign companies capable of making the most of the great opportunities that SelectUSA has to offer. He declared: “At last year’s summit, an Italian tissue company started a conversation with folks from central Ohio and next month they are breaking ground in the town of Circleville on a manufacturing facility that will create hundreds of jobs in a part of the American Midwest that needs them. It will be the largest private sector investment in Circleville in decades and it started right here at SelectUSA”

Sofidel is one of the leading companies in the domestic and hygienic tissue paper industry worldwide and it is well-known in Italy, particularly under the brand Regina in the retail market (at home) and Papernet in the B2B professional market (Away From Home).

After entering the North American market in 2012, the Group is currently committed to investing more than $300 million over a three-year period. The most significant investment is in Circleville, Ohio, which was mentioned by President Obama.

Sofidel has manufacturing plants in Haines City, Fla., Green Bay, Wis., Henderson, Nev., Tulsa, Okla., Hattiesburg, Miss., and has commercial offices in Philadelphia.
