Get your tissues ready, because cold or the flu is quickly approaching. According to Forbes, sick leave due to colds is currently estimated to cost U.S. businesses $576 billion each year. In response, Deb Group launched its Clean Hands Stay Healthy campaign with educational resources, including infographics and guides, to help companies prevent the spread of germs and bacteria this flu season.
Given that 80 percent of all infections are transmitted by hands, regular handwashing with soap is widely seen as one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria – and avoid infections. This practice could reduce the number of people catching colds by 45 percent, according to estimates from the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
“Hands are the main transmitter of germs because we use them to carry out most tasks during the day,” said Isabelle Faivre, Vice President of Marketing, Deb North America. “By implementing an effective hand hygiene program, companies can reduce the impact and frequency of cold and flu outbreaks, which often cause decreased productivity and low staff morale.”
Deb Group offers skin care solutions that have been designed to help employees integrate hand hygiene into their working day with as much ease as possible – from regular handwashing with soap to the use of hand sanitizers where access to running water is inconvenient.
Deb Group also provides supporting materials to help companies educate and train employees about the importance of regular hand hygiene and what they can do to prevent colds and the flu this winter. For more information, click here.
