Alvin J. Martin (A.J.), former National Accounts Manager for Fort Howard Paper Company, passed away November 28, 2016 at the age of 92. Mr. Martin began his career with Fort Howard in 1963 as a Territory Representative and retired in 1994 as National Accounts Manager. During his career he received Salesman of the Year, National Accounts Manager of the Year, multiple Hall Of Fame awards and was a distinguished Presidents Club member through his dedication and diligent work ethic. His integrity and passion for “The Fort” were second only to his wife of 69 years (Lorraine preceded in 2015), and his two sons. Mr. Martin served in WWII with the US Army, and was awarded the Bronze Star for being one of the first heavy equipment operators to make it over the famed Burma Road (China).
