Industry Leader David Holly Dies at 60

One of the professional cleaning industry's most respected leaders died in February 2017.  David R. Holly spent his entire professional life working in the janitorial and sanitation field, first as a building service contractor, then as a salesperson with SC Johnson Company, The Ashkin Group, and most recently with Segura and Associations.

While Holly was with The Ashkin Group, he helped form the Green Cleaning Network and Green Cleaning University, and he cowrote the book Green Cleaning for Dummies, with Stephen Ashkin.

During his career, Holly gave several presentations addressing issues facing contract cleaners and was one of three partners of Tripod Learning Associates.  This organization creates videos, podcasts, and materials specifically for building service contractors.

"Dave was a big driver of sustainability programs for cleaning contractors and was very attuned to new technologies that could help contractors," says Ron Segura, president of Segura Associates. "This is a great loss for the industry. His contributions were many, to the industry and to the green cleaning movement. ... He will be missed."

David leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Karen, and two daughters, Emma and Rachel, as well as his father, siblings, nieces and nephews and many good friends.
