Industry Mourns UniFirst President and CEO Ronald D. Croatti

Ronald D. Croatti, 74, of Londonderry, NH, died Tuesday May 23, 2017, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.  He was born in Boston, MA, on April 20, 1943, a son of the late Aldo Croatti and Alba (Bolognesi) Olney. He loved cars, trains and his beloved dog Bella. Above all else, family was the most important part of his life. Mr. Croatti was the current CEO of UniFirst Corporation in Wilmington, MA, home to his second “family,” where he loved and cared deeply for everyone who worked there, knowing the names and faces of countless employee Team Partners at every one of UniFirst’s 240 locations throughout North America and abroad.
 
Mr. Croatti was a visionary and business leader who helped mold the uniform service and supply industry into what it is today, taking UniFirst from $100 million in annual revenues when he took over leadership of the company, to $1.5 billion at the time of his death.
 
He is survived by his wife, Carol Croatti, of Londonderry; three sons, Aldo of Coral Springs, FL, Michael of Pelham, NH, and Matthew of Winchester, MA; one daughter, Melissa (Croatti) O'Rourke of Hudson, NH; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Cynthia Croatti of Boston, MA, and Mona Levenstein of Ontario, Canada; one brother, Fred Croatti of Port Orange, FL; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
 
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH.  Private graveside services will be held by the family at Pillsbury Cemetery in Londonderry.
