Chicopee Microfiber Floor Mop System Wins WOW Innovation Award

Chicopee, a Berry Global brand, supplier of foodservice cleaning towels and industrial wipes, has won the 2017 World of Wipes Innovation Award for its new Microfiber Floor Mop System.

The ground-breaking Microfiber Floor Mop System addresses an unmet market need for a disposable solution to replace re-useable floor mops in healthcare and building care. The patent-pending system combines a light, ergonomically-designed mopping tool with short-term use Microfiber mops to deliver substantial cost and environmental benefits.

Advantages of the system include reduced chemical consumption, achieved through a removable 620ml reservoir and ‘trigger’ function that only releases the amount of cleaning liquid required. This enables damp floor mopping as opposed to wet floor mopping, reducing water consumption by up to 80 percent. The risk of cross contamination during the cleaning process is reduced versus reusable mops.

The Microfiber Floor Mop System was chosen as the WOW Innovation Award® winner by a combination of attendees at the WOW International Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, the WOW Conference Planning Committee and the nonwovens trade association INDA’s Technical Advisory Board. Voters were asked to examine three finalists for Creativity, Novelty of Approach, Uniqueness and Technical Sophistication before making their choice.

“Those using the Chicopee Microfiber Floor Mop System can have True Confidence that dirt and bacteria will be removed from surfaces,” said Dawn Huston, director of product marketing at Chicopee. “And because the system is easy to use, professionals across a huge range of industries can save time and resources, yet still achieve superior results.

“This award win recognizes Berry Global by the industry as a market leader in innovation. Winning the WOW award also demonstrates our commitment to delivering value-added solutions to our customers by providing improved performance while helping them meet their health and safety, productivity, and business objectives.
