Registration is now open for the third edition of the Suppliers Sustainability Award, the annual award set up with the aim of encouraging, spreading, enhancing and rewarding the best practices and improvement actions you have employed in the field of social and environmental responsibility.
The award ceremony of the Sofidel Suppliers Sustainability Award 2018 will be held on 4th October in Columbus, Ohio, coinciding with the inauguration of Sofidel's new American plant. Their first greenfield investment in the continent was made in Circleville, Ohio, where they built their largest, most modern and most sustainable integrated production site, characterized by the installation of new generation paper mill and converting technologies and by the fully automated warehouse management of the finished product.
In a statement, Sofidel wrote: "We are well aware that all this has been possible thanks to the work of our suppliers and, through the Sofidel Suppliers Sustainability Award, we wish to acknowledge the value of your collaboration by rewarding, in this particular case, your commitment to sustainability."
There are two awards in the Sofidel Suppliers Sustainability Award. One is awarded based on the score given in the “TenP” platform, the self-assessment performance tool created by the Global Compact Network Italy Foundation and built on the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact. The second is awarded by taking into consideration the implementation of specific initiatives.
More specifically, the prizes that will be awarded are:
• Best Supplier, for the company that obtained the highest score on the “TenP” platform
• Best Sustainable Project, for the company that has implemented a particularly important environmental or social sustainability initiative.
