HFI University (HFI-U) will be presenting a 15-minute lightning session on engaging Millennials through e-learning at the Cleaning Industry Research Institute (CIRI) 2019 Science Symposium. The event will be held July 15-17 at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. The theme for the 2019 symposium is “Connecting Research to Practice.”

Allen Rathey, principal of HFI-U, will present the topic: E-learning for Sharing Practical Cleaning Science with Millennials. His session will include information on:

• Creating engaging and interactive learning backed by authoritative science;
• Designing e-learning to both inform learners and help them perform;
• Developing e-learning that adjusts coursework based on learners' responses; and
• Complementing hands-on learning while reaching millennials through their digital devices.

“E-learning need not be boring to be substantive,” says Rathey. “Cloud-based apps enable creating very effective instruction in bite-sized portions to engage the digital generation, both the young and young-at-heart, while augmenting essential on-site training.”

Rathey’s session will be at 8:15 a.m. ET, July 17, in Session 6: Management Science, Efficiencies & Economics, Survey Data. Each session will conclude with a panel discussion.
