For the fifth consecutive year, the O’Dell Corporation has donated $10,000 to go towards the purchase of back-to-school supplies for students at Ware Shoals Primary school, Ware Shoals, South Carolina. O’Dell owners Michelle Foster, John Stroud and Chip O’Dell presented the check to District 51 Superintendent Faye Sprouse and incoming Ware Shoals Primary principal, Jason Morrison at O’Dell’s corporate office on June 21. The contribution will allow time for the supplies to be purchased and prepared for distribution well in advance of the opening day of the 2019/2020 school year.
The presentation took place in front of a sign made by students and given to the company in appreciation for its’ support of the school. The sign, which simply says “O’DELL” has each student’s fingerprint pressed onto the letters and serves as a wonderful symbol of the impression O’Dell is making on the community.
“Our district is very appreciative for O’Dell’s commitment to the betterment of our schools and our community," says Sprouse. "Over 80 percent of students at Ware Shoals Primary are below the poverty level and this relieves one of the stressors that families often experience when the new school year begins, helping them to have a more positive attitude going into a new school year. The O’Dell Corporation is making a positive impact on children and helping us achieve our district mission, which is to help each student reach that crucial milestone, DESTINATION…GRADUATION!”
It is The O’Dell Corporation’s intention to continue supporting District 51’s mission in this way for many years to come, with no end in sight.
