Georgia-Pacific donated $25,000 towards flood recovery efforts to Muskogee County, Oklahoma, reports the Muskogee Phoenix.
Oklahoma Gas & Electric jointly donated $25,000 to contribute to the effort during the Oklahoma Festival of Ballooning. The $50,000 donated by the two companies brought the fundraising to $70,000 as of Monday. The goal of the fundraising is to gather $250,000 for flood victims in Muskogee County, Oklahoma.
Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific also has offices across the country. The company employs nearly 800 people at its Muskogee tissue mill.
“Georgia-Pacific believes in giving back to its communities, especially in times of great need,” says Georgia-Pacific vice president of operations and Muskogee Mill manager Rodney Bond, according to the Phoenix. “We are proud to present this donation to flood relief victims in our community, and we hope that everyone will join with us to donate to this good cause.”
