People see art differently from one another. The definition of what is and isn’t art can’t also fluctuate between minds. Case in point: one man spends some of his free time photographing toilets.
Australia-born Canadian Dan Schaumann has been traveling the world taking pictures of toilets for about eight years, reports CBC. Schaumann is now traveling the Canadian providence of Newfoundland and Labrador to explore the restrooms in its rural communities, bars and clubs.
One of Schaumann’s recent finds, according to the report, was an outhouse along a trail that’s totally exposed to the elements — there is no coverage whatsoever.
As for who has the best loos, Schuamann says Montreal might have the best toilet scene of any city. Not just in Canada, but the world.
Schaumann isn’t the only person to have beauty in restrooms. After all, Cintas Corporation puts on annual contest to determine the top restroom in America.
