The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have launched a new educational program devoted to infection control training.

States Targeting Reduction in Infections Via Engagement, or STRIVE, is intended to improve infection control knowledge amongst all health care professionals, reports Healio.

Those working in infection prevention, on infection prevention teams, hospital leaders, health educators, nurse and physician managers and environmental service managers are suggested to use STRIVE.

STRIVE involves courses focusing on the prevention of healthcare associated infections. These classes involve hand hygiene, environmental cleaning and the engagement of patients and families. Those who complete the courses can receiving continuing education credits through the CDC’s Training and Continuing Education Online website.
