William Velez has joined Harvard as its chief information officer.
Velez will oversee information technology strategy and operations across the company focusing on digital business transformation. As a member of the Harvard leadership team, he will ensure information technology adds value to the organization by facilitating the ongoing success of the business.

Prior to joining Harvard, Velez was CIO at Intermex Wire Transfer, LLC, where he was responsible for technology strategy, including digital transformation, business innovation, and data security. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico.
Velez will work from the company’s corporate headquarters in Miami.
