The job outlook for janitors and building cleaners came into the fall still growing, according to the most recent data from the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau Of Labor Statistics.
The data, which was last updated in September, shows that janitor and building cleaner jobs are growing at a rate of 7 percent, which is faster than average. At this rate, there are expected to be 159,800 more of these jobs available between 2018 and 2028.
There were 2,404,400 janitors and building cleaners in 2018, when the tally was last taken. The median pay for those positions was $12.55, which comes out to $26,110 a year.
