Building Service Contractors Association International’s (BSCAI) largest annual event for building service contractors opens today in Las Vegas. The Contracting Success Conference attracts more than 500 building service contractors and provides ample opportunity for learning and networking. By attending, members can earn credits toward CBSE certification.
BSCs of all sizes and experience will find business guidance and answers to pertinent industry-based questions at the event. More than 30 seminars will be offered over the course of three days; the majority being "Peer-To-Peer" presentations that will share success stories and cautionary tales from experienced BSCs.
Kicking off the event on Wednesday, Nov. 20 is the "Bidding And Estimating Seminar" aimed at industry newcomers who need help determining workplace pricing as a BSC. More tenured contractors looking for alternative insights on Wednesday may be interested in the "Supervision Seminar.” This two-part session starts with the pitfalls of inadequate training and later dives into communication among employees.
Two keynote speakers will complement the industry-specific education sessions. On Wednesday, Stephen M. R. Covey, author of bestsellers “The SPEED of Trust" and “The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People” will discuss how trust is the foundation for revenue and lasting success.
To help close out the conference on Friday, certified speaking professional Marilyn Sherman will address common obstacles that prevent promising employees from reaching their full potential and the importance of consistent motivation.
In addition to the education, the Contracting Success Conference is the ideal place for BSCs to network. The event provides two networking receptions and plenty of other opportunities for contractors to share best practices and ask advice from their peers.
