A GoFundMe campaign has been setup by doctors at two hospitals in Nashville, Tennessee for the facilities' janitorial and custodial staff.
The doctors at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center started the crowd sourcing campaign April 1 with a $2,000 goal in mind, reports Fox 17 Nashville. That goal has since been greatly exceeded with more than $7,000 raised through Wednesday morning, according to the GoFundMe campaign page.
The doctors say all donations will be used to buy gift cards at popular stores in the area. Those gift cards will eventually be given out with a thank you note to nearly 70 custodians and janitors.
This story demonstrates just one of the many ways people can thank a janitor - something that's been pushed by this website long before this crisis.
