The United States' 2020-2021 flu season is only just beginning, as made evident by the fact that only one state is reporting considerable flu activity.
Iowa sits alone as the only state to not be experiencing "minimal" flu activity, according to the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention's most recent "Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report." The report, which considers data for the week ending Sept. 5, says the Hawkeye State's flu activity is "high."
Forty eight states, Washington, D.C. and New York City report "minimal" flu activity. Flu activity in Puerto Rico is considered "low" and there isn't enough data to report flu activity in Alaska or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
