Christmas is still two weeks away, but it’s already possible that the story of the holiday season is already upon us. An 8-year-old boy in Pennsylvania is raising money for struggling families by selling candy cane-scented hand sanitizer.
Flynn Bogue’s mom told WNEP that Bogue overheard her and her husband discuss how so many people had been losing their jobs due to COVID-19, which in turn will make it harder for them to have an ideal Christmas. That’s when Bogue pitched the sweet idea of the family making candy cane-scented hand sanitizer that they could sell so that they could buy toys for kids whose families have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bogue’s idea of course won his parents over. After warming their hearts, he set his focus on his artistic grandfather, who he commissioned to design a bottle logo that features Santa wearing a mask.
By the end of November the family had sent more than 500 bottles of “Santa-Tizer” throughout the United States, according to WNEP's report.
