A Montana woman was able to keep her commercial and residential cleaning business running while she battled both cancer and struggles imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Renee Shull opened Momma Maid Inc. eight years ago so that she could provide needed commercial and residential cleaning services and companion care to the people of western Montana, reports KPAX-TV. The business currently cleans 80 houses, 15 businesses and 30 vacation rentals.

Despite the strong list of clients, Momma Maid was on shaky ground when its usual customers began declining services because they didn't want others around at the start of the pandemic. That Shull could understand - even her staff was scared of what was going on. However, it wasn't the only considerable scare she's had to deal with as of late. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019 and spent a year undergoing treatment, causing her to step away from most of the daily business. In other words, 2020 was not kind to Shull.

Today, both Shull's health and her business have made a full recovery. In fact, she's taking on a complete workload and is looking to hire more help to keep up with demand.
