The Simon Institute — a 501c3 non-profit group of cleaning industry professionals that seeks to identify best practices, processes and systems for their custodial operations — announced that it will hold its 19th annual Symposium on Aug. 10-12 from 3-5 p.m. (Eastern). The virtual event is open and free to anyone who is interested in learning best practices for custodial departments while connecting with other industry professionals who want to do the same.
“While we’ll miss seeing everyone in person, a virtual format will allow us to share our educational events and training with a much bigger audience,” says Brandon Baswell, President, Simon Institute, and Campus Services Manager at Michigan State University. “We have an incredible lineup of speakers and sessions scheduled, so those who have attended Symposium in the past can rest assured that they will receive the same level of education they’ve come to expect from this event.”
Session topics include:
Case Study: Implementing Change During a Pandemic
Case Study: Higher Pay for Pandemic Training
Recruiting Differently: Exploring Opportunities with Second Chance Hiring
Overcoming Recruiting Challenges
Connecting Research to Practice: The World of Cleaning Science
All attendees are encouraged to attend on Thursday, Aug. 12 for the Outstanding Cleaning Worker Awards Ceremony, which will start promptly at 4 p.m. Eastern. This event will recognize frontline cleaning workers who have displayed a commitment to professional pride and care for their responsibilities. Nominations for this award are due by Saturday, July 24.
