After transitioning to a virtual event in 2020, Interclean Amsterdam will once again return to the Dutch capital May 10-13 for another edition of the world’s most advanced cleaning and hygiene show. Attracting professionals from across the globe; the 2022 event is expected to be a truly international affair, bringing the industry together to celebrate the best of cleaning innovation.
A lot has changed since the industry last gathered in person in 2018. There has been an increase in the rightful focus, respect and appreciation the cleaning and hygiene industries receive, alongside the continuing rapid pace of innovation. When the exhibition opens its doors to attendees in May 2022, these major themes are taking over the agenda:
• Operational Efficiency
Interclean Amsterdam 2016 saw the introduction of the Management & Mobility pavilion, a section of the show dedicated to exhibitors developing software and apps that drive cleaning productivity. In the years since that show, Management & Mobility has become even more vital to providers, which is why the pavilion will be a prominent feature again.
• Health & Hygiene
COVID-19 resulted in new challenges, new ways of working across industries and higher demands for cleaning.
While working arrangements continue to develop, and the competition for strong hires increases, better working conditions that include healthy environments and the latest technology are an essential part of the new recruitment landscape. Meanwhile, ergonomic equipment, "Cobotic" partnerships, and exoskeleton support equipment featured alongside more traditional methods of cleaning is expected as part of a modern cleaning employment model.
• Technological Developments
Technology is driving the future of cleaning. Although robotics isn’t a new segment for Interclean Amsterdam, the recent advances made by manufacturers have been rapid, proving that this technology is an area of cleaning innovation that businesses should keep an eye on. Where automated cleaning machines were once an exciting but expensive solution, they are swiftly becoming a viable option for many different commercial environments and industries.
The Robot Arena will offer attendees not just the chance to see the latest robots in action, but to gain a practical, first-hand demonstration of what the new generation of robots can do for them.
• Sustainability for Facilities and Organizations
Returning to the 2022 event will be the Zero Waste Lab and Facility Inspiration Event. This will show delegates exactly how to improve their waste management practices for a greener, cleaner future. Cleaning providers are working hard to adopt sustainable ways of working — from waste management to green cleaning. The Circular Economy, responsible products and resource management will be common threads linking many of the innovations on display.
Also making its return to Interclean Amsterdam 2022 is the Healthcare Cleaning Forum. After its successful introduction in 2018, this 2022 edition will continue important conversations around healthcare cleaning and infection prevention – organized together with top experts such as Prof. Didier Pittet, Alexandra Peters, Prof. Martin Kiernan and Prof. Pierre Parneix.
With so much to offer, Interclean Amsterdam 2022 is this year's must-attend industry event, hosted at RAI Amsterdam, Netherlands, from May 10-13. Those interested can learn more at www.intercleanshow.com/amsterdam.
