Birdhouses outside

Keeping up with cleaning demands across an entire school is no easy task, but one custodian from Riverview Intermediate School manages to do so while also making a big impact for a class's art project. As reported by WJON, Jody Schave enjoys woodworking in his spare time — and after talking with one of the school's art teachers, decided to go the extra mile with his hobby.

Over a two-weekend stretch, Schave constructed birdhouses for each of the students, who then had the opportunity to paint and customize them to their own liking. The project was a huge success, giving students the opportunity to share their ideas, make connections with other teachers by showing off their work, and bringing something back home that families as a whole can be excited about.

In total 292 birdhouses were made for each third grader at the school. Check out photos of the project in-action with a variety of unique designs here.
