ABM announced Gil-Son Construction Limited, with offices in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Saint John, New Brunswick, has signed an agreement to join the TEGG franchise network, providing services in Canada’s Atlantic Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Gil-Son Construction is a leading full-service electrical, mechanical, and HVAC-R solutions provider for commercial and industrial facilities. TEGG is a franchise brand of ABM Franchising Group, LLC, a subsidiary of ABM.
“Gil-Son’s expertise in facility infrastructure projects place them perfectly for growth as a TEGG Contractor,” says Kelly Pnacek, vice president of ABM Franchising Group. “TEGG specializes in the electrical asset management that keeps facilities safe and resilient, with the expert testing and maintenance that businesses need to protect their investments in facilities and productivity. ABM Franchising Group is proud to have Gil-Son join the TEGG network.”
Founded in 1986, Gil-Son Construction has evolved into a 330-employee enterprise supporting clients as a leading provider of electrical and mechanical contracting services in Atlantic Canada. Taking the helm in 2014, Daniel Hiltz has since directed the strategic growth of Gil-Son as a multi-trade contractor with in-house electrical and engineering support teams, full mechanical and HVAC-R capability including sheet metal and welding shops, and a growing capacity for large installations and commissioning projects.
“With TEGG’s large network and ample training opportunities, our technicians can become experts in a technical field that often only equipment manufacturers compete in,” says J.P. Butler, director of Technical Services, Gil-Son Construction, “TEGG’s software will allow us to manage facility assets for new and existing customers, providing a full comprehensive view of their system that they usually do not have. TEGG also provides a way for us to further service our customers’ needs by providing predictive testing and preventative or condition-based maintenance on all equipment in their electrical systems. This allows us to prolong the lifespan of equipment, reduce failures and downtime, and ultimately save the customer money while continuing to grow our business.”
ABM Franchising Group offers a portfolio of franchise networks that deliver electrical and mechanical services and preventive maintenance solutions to commercial and industrial buildings. ABM Franchising Group consists of two franchise brands: TEGG and Linc Service. Gil-Son Construction Limited will operate under the TEGG franchise brand.
